The Invisible Dress Series evokes the doll clothes and paper dolls of childhood. They are happy little dresses, yet evoke something else that is ominous. The departure comes in the materials chosen: woven plastic discards that have been burnt and manipulated. As we age, our bodies become more and more invisible, fading into the background. White on white, blending into the wall, so do these dresses. Pins pierce the waist. It is an embattled femininity, asking, when. . .? where . . .? how. . . ? why . . ?
